Peninsula Futsal has partnered with the Sorrento Community Centre to provide Futsal to those who want to play the beautiful game but at a slower pace. Walking Futsal is suitable for all levels of ability and fitness, from people who are returning to sport after a break or those who have never played before. Walking Futsal aims to provide participants physical & mental health benefits, social contentedness and promotion of the benefits of ongoing physical activity.

Affiliated with Football Victoria, Walking Futsal caters for individuals of all ages, with a focus on men and women aged over 55 years.

HOW IS WALKING FUTSAL PLAYED?

  • Teams consist of 5 players, one of which must be a goalkeeper.

  • Sessions are limited to 3 teams of 5/6 players and go for one hour. Teams will be rotated every 5 mins.

  • Running is not allowed. A participant always has to have one foot on the ground.

  • It is a non-contact version of the game.

  • The ball cannot be kicked above hip-height.

  • There is no heading of the ball.

  • The focus is on fun and making friends
