Rules…

Yes, yes but in order for the game not to descend into chaos we need some basic guidelines in place. Please take some time to read over and acquaint yourselves with the following:

  1. Teams consist of 5 players on the court, one of which must be a goalkeeper. Games may start with a minimum of 3 players.

  2. Each team may have unlimited substitutions.

  3. Players are allowed everywhere on the pitch, including goalkeepers.

  4. There are no head height rules.

  5. No tackles or attempted tackles from behind. Strictly no slide tackles. The best players don’t actually tackle, they just use anticipation and movement.

  6. When the ball passes over the touchlines the game is restarted by a kick-in. When the ball passes over the goal line having last been played by an attacker the game is restarted by a goal clearance. This must be done by the goalkeeper and the ball must be thrown by the goalkeeper.

  7. If the ball hits the roof a kick in is taken by the other team.

  8. Goalkeepers cannot receive the ball by hands or feet after releasing the ball unless it has been touched by the opposition. This also applies to a goal clearance. Goalkeepers must release the ball within 4 seconds of gaining control of the ball. If the goalkeeper crosses the halfway line, they have unlimited time with it.

  9. At free kicks, kick ins and corner kicks, all opponents must be 3 meters from the ball and the ball must be put in to play within 4 seconds of taking possession of it.

  10. Accumulated fouls. The first 5 direct fouls sanctioned by a free kick in each half are recorded. For these first 5 fouls a defensive wall (3 meters away) may be formed by the opposing team to defend the kick. Beginning with the 6th foul the players of the opposing team may not form a wall to defend the kick.

  11. Dangerous play can result in yellow or red cards.

  12. Play to the whistle. Everything is left to the discretion of the referee and all abuse will not be tolerated.

  13. No Dickhead Policy. We’re here to have fun so please respect each other.
